Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Slides Studio is a free slide editor that runs entirely in your web browser. It is published at slides.soundmind.org.in. This policy explains what data the app uses and what it does not do.
The short version
- We do not run a server for this app. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share your decks, files, images or Google account information.
- Your decks are saved in your own browser, and, only if you choose to connect Google Drive, in your own Google Drive.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Data stored in your browser
To keep your work between visits, the app saves your current deck, and your settings, in your browser's local storage on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you save or export it. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.
Google Drive connection (optional)
If you choose Sign in with Google, Slides Studio asks Google for one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This lets the app see and manage only files that it creates, or files you explicitly choose with it. It cannot see the rest of your Drive.
With that permission the app can:
- create a folder named "Slides Studio" and save your decks there as
.slides-studio.jsonfiles, and update them when you edit (autosave); - list and open the decks it saved;
- upload PowerPoint exports, or exports that Google converts to Google Slides;
- read an image file you pick, to place it on a slide.
The app talks to Google directly from your browser. The access token Google returns is kept only in the page's memory. It is not written to disk or sent anywhere except to Google's own services, and it is discarded when you close or reload the page. The app does not read your name or email address.
The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the features above. It is not transferred to anyone, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
Revoking access
Choose Disconnect Google in the app's cloud menu to revoke the token and unlink the deck. You can also remove access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your files in Google Drive are not deleted when you disconnect. You can delete them yourself in Drive.
Third-party services the page loads
- Google Fonts delivers the fonts. Your browser requests them like any web page, so Google can see your IP address. The PowerPoint export library is served from this site. Only if that fails does the app fall back to a public CDN (jsDelivr or cdnjs).
- Google Identity Services loads only when you use the Google Drive features.
- The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs under GitHub's privacy statement.
Children
The app is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.
